What ailments and illnesses can acupuncture help with?
Acupuncture can help with many types of ailments and illnesses. Some of the most common concerns are those who suffer from headaches, neck pain, frozen shoulder, tinnitus (ear ringing), facial paralysis, TMJ, common cold, flu, cough, abdominal pain/discomfort, indigestion, nausea, constipation, diarrhea, irregular menstruation, PMS, infertility, back pain, joint pain, anxiety, depression, insomnia, stress, fibroids, musculoskeletal disorder, supportive treatments during chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments, and much more.
Do I have to “believe” in order to see results?
Have an open mind, stay in present moment and you will see the difference.
Are there any risk to getting acupuncture?
Bruising may occur if (and when) cupping or gua sha (or scraping) is done. Otherwise, acupuncture has very low risk from minor bruising to a slight dizziness. Infection does not occur as we utilize clean and disposable acupuncture needles.
How is this practice different from other practices in the Phoenix area?
Susanti Cai specializes in Japanese acupuncture technique known as Japanese Meridian Therapy by applying Classical Chinese medicine influenced by Masakazu Ikeda, Katsuyuki Oue and Edward Obaidey. Sessions are one on one and focuses on the needs of the patient. Susanti will not only address your concerns, but help patients create healthier and happier lifestyles.
Do you accept insurance?
Insurance is not accepted. However, a super bill is available upon request.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check or credit card, as well as HSA and FSA.
Do acupuncture needles hurt?
No, they do not. Susanti uses a very fine, sharp and very thin Japanese needles that are inserted gently and shallowly.
How deep do the needles go?
In general, about 1mm to 5mm. This also depends on the muscle size, ie. gluteal (buttock) area is much larger, hence longer and thicker needle would be utilized.
Can I get a disease like hepatitis from using acupuncture needles?
Susanti uses disposable and one time use only acupuncture needles as well as maintaining clean hands practice at all times to avoid the risk of hepatitis.
